I'd like to acknowledge several people for their help in getting the Encore project to first release.
First and foremost is my brother, Hank Luhring. It was all his idea. He called me on a Saturday morning back in March 2025 and said he had a wild idea. Often he starts these calls with "are you sitting down?!" This was one that I didn't fight him on.
I thank him for being willing to commit the resources and for leaving me alone to get the job done. I like to joke that Hank is Mr. Moneybags and I'm Mr. DoAllTheWork. But that's how I like it.
Next I'd like to thank my son Nick Luhring, who took the lead on graphic design. He was the one convincing me it was worth spending a little bit of time to make stuff look nice (like rounded corners for the buttons) when all I wanted to do was crunch numbers. Nick has been a sounding board from the git go, especially for the UI.
Then of course, there is Claude Code, without which this could not have been done. Period. Full stop. I also used ChatGPT to keep Claude honest.
And my colleagues at Issuetrak for being fun to work with, and putting up with my part-time status. And for not complaining too much about my bike riding and nap schedule.
Vicky Aldridge (Controller), Taylor Ross (COO), and I have a private Slack channel at Issuetrak called TheNumberCrunchers. We live to find each others' errors, and pride ourselves on the accuracy of our numbers and financial reports. Thank you both for your product feedback, and tolerance for beta testing in the heat of the battle. Vicky is also the official bookkeeper for Ferox, although there's not a lot of bookkeeping to do quite yet.
And finally my nephew Daniel Luhring for telling me about Claude Code in the first place and for being a cheerleader and technical sounding board throughout.
And of course the rest of my family for giving me the space to work on this project, and for at least disguising their skepticism when I talked about being 99% done. For 6 months running. The release of Encore really is around the corner!
This time it's the corner we just passed!!
