Encore carries its own documentation, so help is often one keystroke away.
Press F1
Opens the reference for whatever you're working on: the screen, the form, or the command.
Take a tour
Guided tours walk through each screen. Re-run them any time from Help, then Tutorials, or the compass button on any form.
Ask Trusty
Trusty can explain the numbers in your open model and, in Developer, help write logic and reports. Needs your own Anthropic API key.
The documentation
User Guide, Technical Reference and every language reference live under Help, then Documentation.
Your model's own help
Models can ship with their own guide on the Help menu, explaining how that model works.
The blog
Mind the GAAP has how-tos and modeling ideas as they're published.
Help us help you faster
Include these in your email and we can usually skip the back-and-forth.
- Your Encore version and edition (Settings, then About).
- What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot of any error message or the screen in question.
- If it's about a model, the file names involved. Send the model itself only if you're comfortable sharing it.
Quick fixes
Windows or my browser warned me about the installer.
Encore is new, so Windows and browsers haven't seen it much yet. It's signed and safe. In your browser's downloads list, choose Keep. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
Trusty isn't answering.
Check that your Anthropic API key is entered in Settings and that your Anthropic Console account has billing set up and credit available. A Claude Pro or Max subscription doesn't include API credits.
My trial ended and I can't save changes.
After the trial, Encore becomes Viewer: you can open, explore and report on every model, but saving needs a Runtime or Developer license. Nothing you built is lost. See licenses.
How do I install my license?
Save the license file we sent you, then in Encore go to Settings, then About, and install it. No reinstall needed, and license checking is fully offline.
The model says it's open read-only.
Someone else, or another copy of Encore on your machine, has that model open. Close it there and reopen it here.
